History

Alamo Drafting was started by E.P. Schmidt, P.E., in 1979 to provide structural engineering and drafting services for San Antonio and surrounding areas.  In 1986 David E Hoffmann became the sole owner, renaming the company Alamo Drafting & Design and incorporating in 2001.  David has completed projects for: contractors, landlords, leasing agents, retail tenants and home owners, and is familiar with IBC codes and Texas Accessibility Standards.  

Today, our main focus is producing drawings of existing conditions. We can produce plans for individual tenant spaces, entire buildings or field documentation during construction. We also provide home design and preliminary planning for retail & commercial projects.  General drafting services are provided using AutoCAD & SketchUp 3D.
